Jeep goes old school.

The J-12 and Mighty FC concepts are throwbacks to the earlier days of one of the best-known car companies in America. Classic, boxy, and a little retro, they’re designed to do just as well offroad as they will on asphalt.

Jeep ad

First off, a full-page ad ripped from the June 1963 Farm Journal. You can see how ultra-thin some of the ads became over time – heck, you can almost read the almanac on the backside.

Vintage Jeep Collage.

The ever popular Jeep began in 1942 as a military vehicle during WWII. Willys Overland (Toledo, Ohio) was a major manufacturer of the Jeep. In 1948 production of a 4x4 began. American Motors acquired the Jeep in 1969 and built a variety of body styles. Later on the Chrysler Corporation purchased the Jeep franchise and began the successful production of the Cherokee, Grand Cherokee, and Jeep Wrangler.
